Is my Catholic-Sikh Mixed Marriage Socially Legal?

As you know by now, I live in a mixed marriage that is – interracial and interfaith.
When I met my husband, it was obvious to me that there is no legal obstacle for us being together and getting married given that we lived in Great Britain.
Moreover, I was quite confident that there would not be any major religious difficulties from my side (I am Catholic) and from my husband’s side (he is Sikh). Of course, we were aware there might be some bumps on the way, but that eventually our religions would not interfere in our union.
The biggest issue for us was – the society. I don’t mean ‘the society’ as the general public, but rather our own – small communities and the most important ones, our families. How will they react? What will they say? And the most important question- Will they agree to us getting married and being in mixed marriage?

Our Happy Multifaith Catholic Sikh Family

Yesterday, I filled out some registration form for my son. There was again this one box that always brings smile on my face- religion. It’s a tiny box, perfect for a few letters. However, in our case there are few letters more than usual. He is Catholic. He is Sikh. He is Catholic-Sikh or Sikh-Catholic (whatever choice you prefer).

Let’s dress our boys in some colours!

Spring has finally come- Yupi !!!!
The nature is waking up and blossom is on the way 🙂 The whole world outside starts getting beautiful colours. We say ‘goodbye’ to greyish and gloomy weather and welcome fresh, wonderful spring 🙂
If everything around has started becoming so colourful, why not to do the same with ourselves and especially our kids? I’m talking here strictly about clothing.
Let’s forget dark and dull black, navy, grey and brown. Let’s enjoy and have fun with yellow, red, green, blue, pink, orange, purple or full mix of colours 🙂
