Visit Poland

Geographically, Poland has (almost) everything:

  • sea (Baltic Sea)
  • many mountain ranges (including e.g. the Carpathian Mountains and the Sudetes)
  • lakes (famous Masurian Lake District)
  • forests (23 National Parks and 121 Landscape Parks)
  • rivers (the most important is our Vistula river)
  • volcanos (e.g. Ostrzyca)
  • even desert! (Bledow Desert)

You name it, we probably have it ๐Ÿ™‚

We have got four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and temperatures betweenย  -25 ยฐC in the winter (on average -3ยฐC) and +35ย ยฐC (on average +22ยฐC) in the summer.

Do you have any planned holidays/trips for this year? Not yet? Visit Poland! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you have already planned going somewhere else, then visit Poland next year ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Looks stunning! At work there’s been a real focus on moving people to Warsaw and they all seem to love it. Is the language an issue though or do most people understand some basic English?

    1. Hi Natasha ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank You. Regarding English- people up to 40 years old in big cities should speak in English well ๐Ÿ™‚ Those above 40 weren’t taught English at school, so not that many of them speak English. However, in Warsaw you or your friends shouldn’t have any problem. Almost everybody speaks English there ๐Ÿ™‚ Of course, if you meet an old Polish gentleman in his 80s, he might not ๐Ÿ˜› But you shouldn’t have any problem there ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello my friend ๐Ÿ™‚ You surprised me!! You’ve seen quite a bit of Poland then ๐Ÿ™‚
The Tatra Mountains are majestic, indeed. They are so beautiful in summer and stunning white in winter. To be honest, I haven’t been there for a long time. I think it’s time to plan a trip there ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. In fact we want to go to Poland this late summer/ autumn. We want to go to Koล‚czewo in Wolin together with my parents. For us it is actually more of a visiting the past as my father was born there and the family had a few estates back in the very old days. It might be the last time my father might see his birth place so it is important for me that we manage it this year (he turns 76 this year!!) and the last time he was there was in the 90s , once with his older brother and once with the family (me included as a 4 year old kid) and some other relatives who were born there and have passed away since then.
Anyhow I would love to see also more regions around the baltic sea during that trip but we need to check out how much time we have for the entire journey

    1. Hi ๐Ÿ™‚
What a great reason to visit Poland ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that kind of trips when there is a personal story behind them. I’m sure your dad has some personal attachment to this place. Kolczewo is right next to seaside, very close to border with Germany. I recommend you to visit Miedzyzdroje (just few km from Kolczewo)- it’s top holiday place in Poland where you can meet lots of famous Polish ‘celebrities’ ๐Ÿ˜›
Can I ask you more personal question? I’ve checked your lovely blog (I strongly recommend it to everyone who reads this post!!!) and I found out your dad is Chinese (the title of your blog already indicates a little bit, but you could be a mixed person, like my son ๐Ÿ™‚ ). Was your family living in Poland (or previously Germany) before the II World War? Why did they settle here? I’m sorry to ask you, I’m just very curious and it seems to be a very fascinating story ๐Ÿ™‚ If you don’t want to reply, I perfectly understand that. If you do want, I’m waiting impatiently ๐Ÿ™‚
      Have a lovely day ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Oh I think you got it a bit mixed up as I am the actually the guy writing about the whole stuff here. My wife is Chinese and I am half German, half Finnish. Perhaps I should put it out more clearly somehow (perhaps a subtitle under the header?). So as you can see my families story is now very very boring compared to what you had in mind ๐Ÿ™‚
I must say though in case I would be Chinese and my father had lived there prior to WWII that would be a very interesting story to share!

        1. It’s not boring at all!!! You are of double heritage (which is already a great start to the story) and with your wife you create such a fabulous fusion ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I love meeting other mixed couples. It’s so great to see so many of us out there in the world ๐Ÿ™‚
Coming back to the main topic- now it’s easier for me to understand why your dad was born in Kolczewo.
I wish you a wonderful trip to Poland- full of happy memories ๐Ÿ™‚ Hopefully, it won’t be the last time for your dad ๐Ÿ™‚

            1. Wow, Wow!!! I love this kind of family pictures/memories and stories. I have to admit I also have a picture of my Greatgrandparents with with Granpa (who was around 9-10 years old) from around 1910 year. It’s such an important photo for me, because I have never met my grandfather. Moreover, he was almost 50, when my mum was born and my mum gave birth to me also quite late (so when I was born my grandfather would be in his late 80). I only know one grandma who died when I was 4. I wish I could meet my other 3 grandparents… at least once in life ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
I hope you had a chance in you life to spend more time with your grandparents and cherish these beautiful moments with them ๐Ÿ™‚
Please, let me know how was your trip to Poland this year ๐Ÿ™‚
